Native American Slavery

Slavery has played a central role in the history of the United States. It existed in all the English mainland colonies and came to dominate productive relations from Maryland south. Slavery has appeared in many forms throughout its long history. Slaves have served in capacities as diverse as concubines, warriors, servants, craftsmen, tutors, and victims of ritual sacrifice. In the New World (the Americas), slavery emerged as a system of forced labor designed to facilitate the production of staple crops. Native American slavery as a source of labor and prostitution.

The Native peoples of California lived in one of the greatest and most abundant lands on earth. Many lived completely subsistence lives, because there was so much food and game that farming was simply
unnecessary. The enslavement, forced Christianization, sexual assaultsand military actions of the Spanish Missions began the process ofdestroying the idyllic life that the Native Californians had possessed.

Slaves have been mistreated and have been treated as if there were no human beings. I feel that slavery should be against the law. Everyone should be treated equally . Slaves have been raped and sexually abused for no reason.

This picture is symbolizing how the slaves were treated and how the men taught they had control over them and could of done whatever they wanted to them.

Between 1754 and 1763 many Native American tribes were involved in the French and Indian War which was a seven year war was with French forces against British colonial militias. Native Americans fought on both sides of the conflict. The greater number of tribes fought with the French in the hopes of checking European expansion.
